Managed by local mum, Amanda Smith, who is also
a fully qualified mechanic, Seat Shop Australia first
began in 2014 when Amanda’s parents expanded
their Townsville business, FB Auto Repairs which
opened in 1978.
Amanda trained as a mechanic there 12 years ago
before opening the Proserpine branch of Seat Shop
Australia in December 2019 with her parents, Peter
and Margaret. She brings years of family knowledge
and experience to Proserpine and is able to carry out
any repair work needed in store.
Now a mum of her own, with a one and three year
old, Amanda is excited to get back to work after
maternity leave. She has completed a second trade
as a Mobile Plant Mechanic, plus Cert IV courses in
Engineering and OEM courses on Palfinger VLCs.
Seats Shop Australia offers a diverse range of
products. They are the sole authorized Australian
importer for United Seats Europe and market leader
Sears Seating which come factory standard in
machinery such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi,
John Deere, Kubota and more.
Stocking a wide range of genuine or aftermarket
spare parts and accessories plus custom seat covers
made right here in North Queensland. Amanda also
offers Vehicle Loading Cranes (VLC) and tailgate
loader service, repairs and spare parts plus VLC
annual inspections.
As a one-woman-shop, Amanda opens Monday –
Thursday but as the family business expands she is
looking forward to employing locals and extending
these hours.
